The MEC for the Department of Transport, Safety & Liaison, Ms Limakatso Koloi, accompanied by the Head of Department, Rodney Pieterse, handed over 200 Shova Kalula bicycles to three schools, namely Phakane High School, AB Kholwane Primary School and Vlakfontein Primary School, at Phakane High School in Kuruman.
The Shova Kalula Bicycle Project is featured as the second official event of the October Transport Month celebrations for 2025 showcasing one of the key activities.
The primary objective of the Shova Kalula Bicycle programme is to provide sustainable transport solutions to learners who reside between three to five kilometres from schools.
