MEC Bentley Vass responsible for Transport, Safety and Liaison, this morning addressed the Second Quarter Performance Review Session of the South African Police Services (SAPS) in the Northern Cape.
The two-day hybrid session started yesterday (13/11/2024) and is attended by the Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Koliswa Otola, the Deputy Provincial Heads, and Station Commanders from across the Northern Cape.
Addressing the session, MEC Vass said “The residents of this Province will expect to see law enforcement visibility in their communities, disrupting criminal activities that may want to pose a threat to law-abiding citizens, who worked hard throughout the year and want to enjoy the holidays in a peaceful environment, this festive season.”
He further said “All of our 92 police stations in this Province must become centres of excellence and ensure safer communities for all the residents of this Province.”
Vass said that the performance review session can work as a realignment to prevent misunderstandings and as a way to pause, step back and recalibrate tasks and workload.
Lieutenant General Otola, appreciated the presence of the MEC and the fact that the Northern Cape Provincial Government under the stewardship of Premier, Dr. Zamani Saul, is always supportive to the work of the SAPS in the Province.
