[In Picture ] On Tuesday, 30 January 2024, MEC Nomandla Bloem and HOD Rodney Pieterse participated in a review session conducted by the DTSL Transport Regulations Directorate. During the session the Arrive Alive Safer Festive Season Campaign was reviewed. Based on the statistics; the Northern Cape reduced fatal crashes by 33% and fatalities by 16%, 43 persons lost their lives on our roads compared to 51 in the 2022 Festive Season Campaign.

MEC Nomandla Bloem, expressed her gratitude to all law enforcement officers for their commitment during the campaign that ensured we reduce the number of lives lost on our roads. She also expressed optimism regarding the 50 new recruits that the department sent to a traffic training college while addressing the dire need of law enforcement officers next to our roads.
