04 August 2023 - The Gender, Disability and Special Programmes Unit together with local leaders and a Non-Govermental Organisation, as part of the departmental intervention supported the Galeshewe Old Age home in handing over consumable items and to clean the old age home in an effort to better the living conditions of the residents of the centre.The day kick started with a fun walk from the Galeshewe Day Hospital to the Old Age home as a call to action to make a positive impact in the lives of our people.One of the community members, Mr Stuurman says a feeling of love, care and value has been restored with this noble gesture especially with the challenges facing this old age home. Vegetables seeds were also donated to grow a food garden and ending the day with a delicious cup of soup.
